IMHO: The orange one is a 4740; it has 17 panels. The grey one has 14 panels and it is not a 4740. I was just doing a quick internet check and I am not sure of this at all.
Go check the all time D&RGW roster at <http://www.drgw.org/data/>. It's a disorganised grouping, find Freight Cars then by Era- pre or post 1960 under generic types. Your subject "is this DRGW hopper a ps4740?" infers we should be looking at some example of one, but you're actually asking about the proto pics I take it? 15320 falls into : 15250-15399 199 LO 49-06 4427 PS BUT Blt 3-68 so, no, it aint. cheers dave
