Has anyone ever kept track of cars released by InterMountain over the years? Would a group such as the NSC possibly have such data? Boxcab E50
That would be nice, kits and all. I keep running across some of the special runs they've made and never duplicated as "regular" runs.
I was wondering about this too. IM's site lists recent release w/road numbers but there are noticeable gaps for cars that haven't been released in a long time. I tried the Internet Archive to look at IM's old pages, only to discover that the older pages don't list road numbers. The data can be cobbled together from various sources, including eBay listings, but it's a lot of work, and frustrating. For example, last week somebody listed about 40 PFE reefers, some of them quite early. The model numbers and road numbers were given, but unfortunately, they were not paired, and the road numbers were out of sequence, it seems. I've put together a working database of selected models (Western roads, mostly) from my collection. If there's any interest I could post what I've got. --Bryan
Seems to me that a long time ago Intermountain made the business decision to remove from its website what it no longer had available to sell. I had made an early attempt to keep track of things but gave up quickly since I couldn't prioritize checking their website every month for changes in the listings. So I suspect the individual modeler is on his own for this one-- or a collective effort could be assembled. I think the color double herald PFE ice refrigerator car is getting close to 100 road numbers now...
Might be interesting to see that data... Have they ever done a Minneapolis & St. Louis RY box car, in other than the late era red scheme? I am hoping for pre-1956 green... Do you have the info number for those GATX tank cars they had, at least originally as kits? I believe it was a 61xxx catalog number? Boxcab E50
