I am curious as to the etiology/history or significance of the small lettering versus the large lettering on the soon to be released IM Western Pacific Locomotives. Any information would be appreciated.

Smarter people than I will reply but I was told by Intermountain Marty that the large lettering version was a later version of the paint scheme. Of course I could have it backwards.

According to the dealer memo this paint scheme started in 1949 with the small lettering. This will be duplicated on #904 & 908 while the later large lettering is on the #905 & 911.
