Wow Jerry is back!!! Glad you are alive and well. I've missed your classes and your modeling. And you get to work with Tunnel Motors too??? Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
I have been introduced to all kinds of new stuff! Never had Fried Okra, and I love it! </font>
Dip the Okra in ketchup! Mmmmmmmm........ Any of those ex-SP units still sport the "SP" on the nose? Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
All Right!!! Welcome back Jerry - great to have you aboard again! We're looking forward to seeing some of pics of those tunnel motors on your railroad! Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
I have been introduced to all kinds of new stuff! Never had Fried Okra, and I love it! </font>
Dip the Okra in ketchup! Mmmmmmmm........ </font>
Best thing I know to put on okra is a biohazard sign- I have tried to eat the stuff in gumbo, fried and (yargh) boiled, and I STILL can't stand the stuff! And I'm married to a Southern gal, and can eat most anything Southern or Texican. Oh well, that aside, welcome back, Jerry! Can't wait to see what's next. Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Saw that website- the logo for the railroad looks very similar to this: That's the logo for the Alabama, Tennessee & Northern, which also shares the same initials as your new line. The first AT&N, however, ran south off the Frisco to Mobile, AL. It was taken over by Frisco in 1947. In a way, it's good to see a fallen flag represented. And even better to see another rail line being used, instead of scrapped. High greens to OmniTrax! Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Welcome back Jerry! Looking forward to getting back to 'attending' one of the few classes I've ever found interesting Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Wow, this is turning out to be a very good day. First my ISP started to work again after being on the fritz for several days. And now I log in and find that you're back. Congrats on the new position. Welcome back. Regards, Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Jerry, Welcome back. Sounds like a great change for you and a real hi point in your career. I am looking forward to more of you classes so I can stay sharp. Shannon WP LIVES ATSF LIVES Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Covered hoppers, tank cars or box cars? (Please, don't say flatcars!) Welcome back Jerry! Looks like a great 1:1 model railroad you have there! Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Jerry: I am really interested in your opinion of the tunnel motors. Surely they are not as reliable as the modern engines, wide cabs, etc. I guess I mean do the TMs operate well and do the job you expect? William Cowie...I got it on the grits... Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
The Tunnel Motors are very reliable.....basically an SD40-2/SD45-2 on a longer frame. I am going to be doing a class on Tunnel Motors as soon as I get more moved in, unpacked, and have a day off! Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
Yes, this has been a real high point for me. The OC is more of a MA & PA operation, and I have always prefered Mainline operations, so this has been great!
Just an update....... Been very busy painting and getting situated in the new home, and working 160hrs every two weeks! But don't worry! I have great things in store for you.
Here's a little look at the new Casa. Whats that in the back???? It's my new 30X30ft shop, just waiting for an N Scale layout to be built in it! But for now......I paint, and relax here. That is, when I am not running these. (ATN Z390, Saine, AL. Saturday morning.)
Jerry, Looks like a beautiful place and it wont be long we will be seeing a topic in the layout design forum huh???? Is that dam on your property? Love those tunnels, look forward to seeingmore of your photos and classes. Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
