Hello, all. I'm looking for an HO moose- or perhaps several meese. I haven't seen any in my wandering around. Does anyone know of a company that makes/sells them, or am I going to have to kitbash one of my cows? Thank you. [ 25. October 2002, 14:32: Message edited by: Biggerhammer ]
I did a search on the Walthers website and came up with this fine set of 3 Meese. They show as not in stock but they are made by Preiser so they might even be available there in Europe. If image doesn't appear above then use following link: http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/590-20393 David [ 26. October 2002, 23:27: Message edited by: Colonel ]
Of course, if you do have moose on the layout, you should write "COW" in large letters on your cows to heep over-anxious hunters from shooting them!
It might be easier to 'bash' a moose's head from a horse rather than a cow, (less plastic surgery on the head.) Maybe start with a cow and an 'oversize' horse..like a Belgian or Clydesdale, OR...a model horse from the next larger scale than you model in. For even more unsettling ideas on splicing animals, there is "The Island of Dr. Moreau" by H.G.Wells.
If Preiser have makes it, isnt ít really an Elk instead of a moose? I have seen the Preisers Elks and they are look very realistic. Mvh Kjell
Those are indeed meese! Thank you. I wasn't looking forward to all the trouble of kitbashing cows... PETPA (people for the ethical treatment of plastic animals) would've given me trouble anyway.
