KAT376112 HO AMTRAK P42 50TH #46 is an HO version available currently. Don't see it as an N scale version past, present or future in the listings from Heartland Hobby Wholesale. John
My source in Maryland has reserved one with ESU Loksound installed for me. I want to install ESU sound in all the anniversary units. All the rest will just get motion decoders. I am not all that crazy about sound, but the paint schemes, especially the Dark Blue and the Black units cry out for top shelf DCC. Same for my Veterans scheme locomotive. As my daughter used to say, Go Navy or go home...... wonder where she got that from?
I have the Midnight Blue version. The full size version has been seen here by just about everyone except me. I figured the only way I would be able to see one is if I bought the N Scale model. As for losing stuff... we had a running joke at one of our friends' layouts, based on something that he consistently misplaced: "It's right next to the Auto Reverser."
Yippie! I got notice from my dealer the locomotive is in stock, with the LokSound decoder installed. I did this so I can see how to do the installs myself.
DCESharkman, I have to agree with your daughter. 4 1/2 yrs USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) and 3 1/2 years VS-41 !!!
HOORAA NAVY!! AT2 stationed at Norfolk and Oceana and I was lucky enough to have been able to work on the best bird to ever fly, the F-14D.
Good to hear you guys and gals are finding Amtrak stuff for your layouts. I'm not so excited about it as Amtrak will never run on my layout. It's a choice thing. Give me the old passenger trains and I'll be happy as can be.
Do you mean if I showed up at your house with Amtrak trains to run when delivering the DCC system and track, you would not let me bring them in?
You'd need a layout to run on and I'm not there yet. I try to be a good host. I'd let you run your amtrash trains. What? What? What did I say? Just be sure you take them with you when you leave.
I did! I did do that! They were badly beaten up by the previous owner. I figured if anyone could get any use out of them it would be "mtntrainman". Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Passenger cars will always have a good home on my layouts. Old, new, any road, any time, it’s just what I do!
Just funnin you. I run train combos that would throw some into a hissy fit. European semaphore signals and North American motive power lol. No amtrak though. Not because I don't like it I just know my limitations and if I were to start with collecting those the rabbit hole could get very expensive lol.
I have always loved passenger trains. I have a collection of old, new, Asian, and European and all different types. They are my preferred type of train for railfaning. So at my house you can see Amtrak running next to the Morning Daylight pulled by 4449, and next up to the station will be the Type 500 EVA or Hello Kitty. It's all good to me! Operations on Passenger trains is not as fun as in freight tho, so I keep my operations mainly with freight stuffs. As for rabbit holes... lets not go there... its a bad thing for me too!
