    Wow!
I know you're not THAT old, to have a roster shot of an engine that old, but is that a family shot? Grandfather, or someone in your family worked for D&H?

More Challenger shots! Since I don't have more than one steam engine in my image collection....
Steam is impressive when it's cold!

Darren, thanks for getting back to real railroading, i.e. STEAM. Randgust, welcome to Trainboard, the greatest railroad site on the net. Jeremiah, I would guess that shot of the 3985 is less than two years ago. :D
For my first contribution, here is SP&S 700 at Pasco, WA, a couple of years ago on an excursion. [IMG]

Wow! Thanks, Darren for your efforts in collecting steam engine images!

    Here's another 3985 shot:
Same day as the February shot above, this time at home in Cheyenne, tying up its short consist before being put to bed in the steam shop: Still cold!

    O Shay, can you see.......?

ES&NA Shay on the turntable (ex-Frisco, from Ft. Smith) at Eureka Springs, AR mid-June 1987.
I was at a Frisco Modelers Information Group convention that weekend, and after riding the ESNA dinner train, I and one other Frisco fan went to do some night shooting. This is the result. At the time, it was an operational Shay, but was not running while the 201 (an oil burner) was being used. This Shay is a coal-burner, and there was also a wood-burner on the roster as well.

If all goes well, in 27 days this will be my ride. Photo taken in 1995 at the Steamtown grand opening. Lady Sunshine will no doubt recognize this shot of Milwaukee Road 261. :D

When I has a child, my Great-Grandfather & Grandmother lived in Laramie, WY. I remeber there was a Steam Engine on display near their home in a park. As a kid I never thought to take a picture so I wonder if it's still there.

Darren, according to my guide to park locomotives in the US, UP 2-8-0 6335 is still on display in Laramie. I can't verify that personally. Got a pic of one of my favorites. Why, you ask? Because I left my finger (er, glove) prints on her throttle, brakestand, etc. back in 2000. :D
Hey John Patton, come join our steam fest.
