Wahh, I don't want to use BF Snot. Anyone leads on actual product? If not, I will call Athearn Monday.

If you havent tried contacting Atheaen direct this might help. Also I believe Kato traction tires should be available from Kato. And if all else fails....Bullfrog Snot!

I replaced the old TTs on my first 2-8-0 with the Kato Mikado TTs. The Kato tire is slightly wider than the grove on the 2-8-0, however I fit it so the outside edge was in the grove, and the overhang was on the inside. The 2-8-0 has TTs on the two rear axles, but I only replaced the rear axle and left the second to rear empty.

I had a slight wobble for a while, but over time, the TT settled into place and the wobble went away. Because of the overhang, the cab sits ever so slightly higher than before, however it also gives the loco more grip. It can out-pull my other two 2-8-0s by about 180%

Go to Athearn online. I haven't had to replace mine, but I decided to orders some spares in advance.
