    Hi all,

Who out there uses a hot wire foam cutter? Which brand? Do you like it? If not, why? Thanks ahead of time.

Ken I used to use hot wire and have had several of various shapes. When I got sick, the Doctor said it was from the toxic fumes of the plastic melting. So an air conditioned room is NOT "adequate ventillation". He said I would have to do it outside with the wind from my back to blow the fumes away from me!

Also, DO NOT eat or smoke while you are in the same room with the fumes!

You can work with the hot wire for quite awhile, but when you do get sick, man you are really down sick like having a bad case of the flu!

If you have a heart condition, or any breathing difficulties, leave the hot wire method strictly alone!!!

Just be wise, and be careful!

Hey Ken, I'll have to agree with Watash the fumes from those hot wire cutters are bad. They really do a good job cutting and shaping without a mess. I never got sick from it but it sure filled up the house! So now I saw and file it and vacumn up the mess

I never got sick from it, but I had the windows open and the fan on pretty good while I did it. I picked up a cheap cutter at Michael's for about $5. It runs on 2 'D' cell batteries. Cuts foam like butter.
