Has anyone built his own conifers from natural products? I did it with moss and wood for dowels. It was a lot of work but the effect was it worth and one of the main advantages is, that you can produce your trees with an appropriate height :D My trees are between 6" and 12" high.

Nicely done! What kind of moss is that? Has that real convincing "west coast" look to it.

Thank you Andrew. I don`t know what kind of moss you have on Canada`s westcoast. I`ve found mine on a few places here in Switzerland. It`s rare :( but if I search a little bit in the forest, I`ll find it [IMG]

Excellent foreground trees! How long did it take to make each tree? [IMG]

Thank you Scott, it takes about 4-5 hours for each tree [IMG] A lot of time but I didn`t find any commercial products that satisfied me and are reasonably priced

Excellent work. Did you hand trim the dowels or purchase tapered dowels?

    Thanks for sharing, Jim

Jim, I taperded the dowels on a lathe and scratched lenghtwise with a fine saw blade for simulating the bark. After this, I brush painted the trunks with a light gray and weathered them with a wash of ink india and thinned roof brown.
