Hi, I'm Alex and I hope all is well with you reader! I've had a passion for trains and everything about them since my first trip to see Thomas at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. I have a small collection of HO scale stuff and a slightly bigger O scale collection and small layout but my main focus is on the real deal. I have a small YouTube and Instagram that I run called advance approach productions but I thought I'd join a place where more people might be interested in what I do. I hope to try and spread the hobby of trains to more people my age. My ultimate goal however, is to become a Civil Engineer and work for a railroad designing and maintaining the railroad infrastructure. I'm glad I was able to join the group and I plan to try and be a active member!
Welcome aboard Alex! All is welcome here, both model and prototype. I like your goal to gain a degree in Civil Engineering!
Welcome to TrainBoard! Field work in civil engineering can be quite interesting. Getting to see from on the ground, many places that most folks and employees will never visit.
Welcome to TrainBoard! I lived in Winston-Salem for a short time. While there I went to the museum at Spencer. Rode behind a nice GP30. One of my grandsons is also named Alex. One time I went with the family of another grandson to see Thomas at the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum. Seems like we have some things in common. Have fun!
Alex welcome aboard here from a member 64 years older than you. Keep that ambition to become a civil engineer. I am an electrical engineer and enjoyed a long career in the aviation flight test arena.
