I am having a problem with a few of my locos in which I installed a Digitrax dz 123. Initially they programmed fine ( I have a Lenz set 100 and use Decoder pro). Here is the problem.. I can call up the loco and run it on the track with no problem, but I cannot read the CV values or write new values to the problem units. All I get from the Lenz system is error 02 and with decoder pro, loco not found. I have tried to reset cv 8 to 8 but no avail. The decoder will not read nor write on my Lenz system, decoder pro or a friends Digitrax system. It is like the decoder has a read/ write block. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Paul f
I don't have convenient access to my notes now but there is a CV, which if set, will lock the decoder. It is not the reset CV. I'll see if I can find it later or someone can chime in.
OK, found something on Digitrax's website: http://www.digitrax.com/v1/LOCK.htm Here's an excerpt: "CV15 is used to select the target decoder that will respond to programming commands. When the values in CV15 and CV16 are equal, all CVs in the target decoder can be programmed. When the values in CV15 and CV16 are not equal, only CV15 can be programmed."
Well I do not know if it fixed Paul's problem, but I just found out that it fixed mine. :thumbs_up: I was ready to scrap my DN-123 but found this thead. Thank you very much
