Hey there all, My name is Tim. I live all the way down in Tasmania, Australia. I am new to model rail roading and I am eager to dive in. I thought it would be in my best interest to get in contact with some railroaders to learn and discuss everything to do with the craft! I am rather interested in starting a 4x8 layout with N scale. Cheers, Tim.
Gidday Tim, and welcome. You'll find timezones are a bit of a problem on occasions in getting answers when we are awake over here, so don't forget to subscribe to the threads you want to follow (your own included) so as to be alerted when there are replies. Do you have any particular prototype or railroad you want to model or era that interests you the most.
Welcome aboard Tim. We are glad to have you. I am sure you will find a lot of the answers you seek here, as well as many of your countrymen. Charlie
Yea, I don't mind the time zones. Not entirely sure. Pref a scenic design with a passenger steam locomotive.
Hi Tim, Welcome to the TrainBoard, glad to have you on board. Looking forward to seeing what you develop. My only experience with Tasmanians was about 20 years ago when I shared a dining car meal with a couple from Hobart while riding Amtrak's Crescent. I remember them as a charming couple, excited with experiencing American culture through rail travel.
Welcome aboard, Tim. You have a good idea with the steam loco. You might even consider a New York Central Dreyfus Hudson, hint hint.
Welcome, Tim. Good to see that you've already "met" a couple of our Australian folks - hope you find lots of inspiration here!
