Can anyone send a picture of a Great Northern Pacific, a fairly modern version, but with out all the pumps and other gee-gaws GN stuck on the smokebox. GNHS is no help in these matters. As an aside, MPHS is no help w/questions even when you are a member. As a matter of fact, UPHS is by far the most helpful, and now C&O fans on Trainboard. Thanks
Petey, did NP ever have any locomotives that didn't have all the hardware attached to the front of the smokebox? I don't have any pix of my own of ANY NP engines, and most of their Pacifics were built in the early 1900's according to Darryl VanNort's steamlocomotives.com. I did find one in an Alco book, the engine looks very clean, built in 1905. Take a look at Darryl's site: Steamlocomotives
OOps, my ancient eyes just completely ignored the word "Great" and went to "Northern Pacific". Sorry. Great Northern is what you want. I found a site that has some stuff. Here is a pic from GNGOAT's site of a class H Pacific: And his site is accessible at: web page GN Goat's site
