I'm wanting to make some changes on my website on GeoCities, and part of that change is in backgrounds. Where on the Web can I find a good source of backgrounds that are RR-related? Or, failing that, how do I make my own RR backgrounds?

    TIA

    Bob,

What type of background are you looking for - a yard, mountain range, etc? Or are you looking for a 'freelanced' background made up of various elements? Do you have a specific prototype in mind (probably Frisco ;) )

Taking a camera out and taking a few shots from a high point may yield what you are looking for. It would then be a matter of scanning the photo and modifying to suit.

Let us know what you are looking to do.

    Gary.

Bob, any picture you see on the web can be saved as wallpaper. Just right click on the picture and "set as background" or "save image" the message could be different based on weather you use IE or netscape or some other browser. Save the picture you wish to use as background. Before putting up on your web page make sure it isn't copyrighted. Any picture I have posted in the CN and CP forums are free to be used if you wish. Next go to your editor that you use to create your website. I use 1stPage 2000. Click on "format, document properties " in the menu and a window pops up where you can choose an image to use as background. Just provide the file name and there you have it

Thanks for the help gang! Now, can I assume that something like Corel PhotoPaint could be used to sofet/change contrast/shading, etc. on a picture? I don't want the pic to overshadow the text on the
    page.
ANd most likely, I'll use some Frisco shots or a couple of good Midland Valley or Northeastern Oklahoma black/white shots.
I'll let you know what I come up with.

    GO D-BACKS!!

OK, I've put a couple of Midland Valley/KO&G black & white caboose shots as backgrounds on two of my Web pages. I "smoked" the pictures- that is, darkened them up so the pictures didn't overwhelm the text.

    Check it out at
