    Hiya,

Could some one give me a very brief history of GNR in Vancouver, BC, Canada please. Also, what kind of power freaquanted the line?

If it to your intrest, the old GNR station that was torn down still reamains in a small way, the platforms are still existant!! It is nice to think that I may have been one of a small hand ful of people to touch that platform this century [IMG]

BC~ The GN's rails reached Vancouver in the late 19th century. Due to James J Hill's influence on in the rail scene,(he was also canadian) the GN is the only railroad to cross into Canada, all other roads had to stop at the border. Are you looking for information specifically on the track layout in Vancouver? I'm just down the line in B-ham by the way

Before I went into the service in 1950 I rode the GN passenger dozens of times from Bellingham to Seattle and return. I just loved to watch that steam engine each time we went around a curve and I was always at the station a couple of times a week just to watch it pull in.
