Looks like the circuit board has a six pin connector on the rear for plugging in a decoder, easier and cheaper than replacing the whole board. The next thing will be to see how good decorated versions look. I was going to ignore these and try to concentrate on the 50's-60's Santa Fe, but then I thought oh well, a couple of BNSF's, then I saw the KCS and Ferromex. A curse on FVM.
LOL! I've been trying to stick with the transition era for a while but can't resist some of the new modern stuff.
I'm in for several of them also....CP, BNSF, maybe a couple of UP...but heavy on CP and BNSF...10-15 for starters..
I'll take a KCS, Ferromex, BNSF, UP, If I had the money!!! Ill be broke before I get the cash!!!:tb-shocked:
2 UP, 2 BNSF and a Ferromex for me. Does anybody know if they will come with DCC or just be DCC ready. Dave
Just saw on Kato's website that 4 more of the SD70ACe's will ship on June 30th. With those out of the way, I'll have more room in the budget for lots and lots of GEVO's. I wonder how many road numbers there will be?
I can't wait until Dec 2009 it's going to be a great Xmas for myself and the S-line which I will have a small part of it ready for these GEVO series.
Not to be whiny, but at this point I'd love to see an official press release with some facts all in one place with official pics, although some posted in this thread are very high quality. I mean it's okay if the price is TBA, it would just be nice to have something official.
Matt stated he would make an official announcement after the NMRA convention at Hartford, CT July 5-11. So, I don't think he's "dropping the ball". :tb-confused:
GEVO's coming! I can see getting at least one UP edition unless as earlier stated if they come out with Undec Models then it will be two I will buy. I picked up one at the show and it seemed kinda lite though, sure hope the final edition is heavier. Kinda reminded me of the Tucker; if any of you are old enough to remember them. LOL
From what I have been led to believe, they were just frame and shell, no motor (or flywheels??) in them at the show...
There is a motor, light board, pickups and everything else needed to make them run shown in this shot. http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg178/geep35/GEVO004.jpg
Ya know, you would think they could get rid of those goddawful brass contacts on the side of the trucks...that almost makes me not want to buy one....
No low numberboards on FVM GEVO! I sent off an e-mail to FVM with a question: Hello, Will your GEVO in CP scheme have the low number boards as the prototype? I would like to get this info asap before I order a few. Thanks in advance, And I just received an answer: Hi XXXX, Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, these will not have the low numberboards as on the Prototype. Only two roads had this feature and it was one of those tough choices I had to make. If there is anything else I can answer for you, please let me know. Thanks. Best regards, Matt Oh well.... another CP loco that just doesn't match the prototype.:tb-frown:
<CENSORED> Looks like the GEVO is off the wish list now, unless FVM either change their mind about the low numberboards, or they do CN instead of CP - as CN use the high numberboards
It's off my wish list now too. C'mon FVM, we have tooooo many CP locos that just don't match the prototype. Get the numberboards and trucks correct and you will have a winner with the CP fans! And... Lets not forget the CSX fans!
Officially OFF the Wish List... I've emailed FVM and told them that, as things stand, they have lost my custom. If they end up dropping CP and offer CN instead...
