No winners yet. Let me think out loud.. no sign of sports fields, so no clues there a couple of red roofs, but not many fairly large yard, with overhead wires; tends to imply a larger city unusual road layout, can't be certain it's drive-on-the-right I've looked across most of the Netherlands and that shade of green isn't too common north is nearly straight up, which helps So I think it could be Netherlands, Belgium or even Germany. Now to wait for the solution and see how far wrong I am/will be
Some more loud thinking: Google Earth is much better than Google Maps after >3hr of this, my eyes hurt not enough detail to tell drive-on-right vs drive-on-left doesn't seem to have the right colour ballast, nor the right catenary for France ballast and catenary are a match for Belgium, however. or maybe the Netherlands size of electrified yard tends to imply a high use corridor, possibly even a high-use passenger corridor. trees beside track and roads, doesn't say much sort-of industrial to the south, west and north; residential east and maybe south-west no major roads nearby Must.. Sleep..
Don't look at me, I still struggle with the Beginners games. Maybe a Hint that would limit the search a bit??? :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky:
Not the Netherlands... Not Germany.... Not Belgium. Not South of the Equator.... Not South America. Does that narrow it down?
It's a very good challenge, despite the "intermediate" tag. I did have a list of countries that had at least a partial match - the right overhead, or the right ballast, or a river that shade of blue-black or... But it appears to have left when my computer played up. I think it was: Germany (out) Belgium (out) Austria Sweden Poland Russia France Italy (but not Bologna) north-west Spain Google Earth and Ireland don't play nice together - most of the rails aren't marked - so if it's there I would never find it; and England just didn't look right; neither did Scotland. I'm still in favour of Europe; somewhere... But she's a mighty big planet to be trying to find via brute force.
Well... it looks like it is an east coast location somewhere, though it could be on a large lake I suppose. It appears that it is not anywhere in: England Scotland Ireland Denmark Sweden Finland US Mexico Central America South America anywhere still north of the equator Canada Japan China Korea (North or South) Phillipines India Vietnam I still have a few ideas. I am really mystified by that track or field.
