I came across this site today, and I am curious if anyone has ordered from them? They do custom N scale buildings, and they have some ready made also. www.friscotrains.com
Haven't heard of them previously. They seem to be a new operation. Just registered as an eBay user last month. Boxcab E50
From what I've seen of their product, they are basically assembling DPM modular parts into custom arrangements. The two auctions I saw of theirs this week did not sell, but the buildings looked to be nice enough. The asking price was around $33. I prefer scratchbuilt buildings, or at least partially scratchbuilt. Having said that, these buildings look nice for what they are. Hopefully they'll be around long enough to get a reputation. David
Greetings- My name is Travis and I am the owner/operator of Friscotrains.com. We are a new operation located in Frisco, TX... Like David said, all we are basically doing is selling prebuilt models assembled from DPM modular parts. I started doing this about 3 months ago and selling them on Ebay, under my old username, and got a very good response. So, I started my own website and I am starting to offer a building service along with prebuilt designs. It is in the very early stages and I am planning a lot of new things to add soon. One of my major items that I am developing now is cast metal details to include with the buildings or to purchase seperate. (Some people say they can tell how good a model kit is by how heavy it is.) I am in the process of making the originals to mold, then I will start casting them, hopefully by the end of the week. We have been up and running for a little over a month now, and have had ok sales.... mostly auctions on Ebay. This project is by no means a full time job, just a way for me to do what I like to do and make a little money on the side. Who knows what it will turn into in the future. I really appreciate getting recognized on a forum like this one, maybe some one will give us a try. Please feel free to email me with any comments or suggestions, I would really like to hear what you think! Thanks.
Welcome aboard Travis!! As a neighbor, I'd like to take a moment to say howdy!! Listen carefully and you can probably here me yelling....I'm not too far from you. Good luck with the new business. I'll keep an eye on your website and if I see something I'm interested in I'll let you know. Might even come over to check out your inventory....if that's alright with you.
