Hi guys. I am a big fan of George Sellios' work and his railroad. I buy his fantastic kits. I buy Keller's videos of Georges railroad. I marvel at his workmanship and the general trackplan of the railroad. My question to you is; If you were asked by George to operate his railroad or help build it, which would you prefer to do and why? Chooch ######
Well, I'd shoot for the moon! Doing both would be a great learning experience. So I'd try to make that my end goal! Boxcab E50
Chooch5, Welcome to the TrainBoard! I can't personally make an answer for sure, but in my later years now, I'm finding I would enjoy running trains more than all the building to be able to.
Me too Wayne .. can't get the 'ol peepers to see as well anymore while fooling around with those tiny parts!
I'd have to go with opperation too. Got to be fun to run with all that great scenery. I'm sure I could learn quite a few things about detailing from him.....Mike
Seems like it would be a real challenge to operate in some of the congested areas he has....especially switching operations.
Sorry Guys, I've seen the other side of 60, and I have to use 'opivisors' all the time. But I get a great sense of accomplishment upon the completion of a 'craftsman' kit. I'll be long gone before my layout is 'finished' but it's sure fun putting another building together.
My geezer glasses have spoken- I'd rather operate. Not sure how much strain I'd get on the eyes peeking thru the bottom part of my bifocals (when I first got bifocals, I found out that presbyopia is NOT a religion ) trying to superduperdetail like this guy does.
