I got at least one of everything he offers in Z. I just have not had the chance to paint any of it yet. The castings are very good quality. No bubbles or dents!

The ambulance, modern fire engine, armored car, utility truck and school bus are especially good.

That IS Apu's Quick-e-Mart! I have that kit, and it is the same structure! Those kind of stores are all over here, and that one looks like the Quick-Stop store by my house. :D

I've ordered the lot so we'll see. Randy e-mailed me and is proud of his work since '95 and looking to grow. He asked about forums outside of Z_Scale so I pointed him here and Z Cetral Station for starters. I'll post pix when I get them (hopefully before Friday when I go to see Jurg in Switzerland).

    Hello,

What I would need is a few gas pumps, but he seem not to offer them separately.
BOB's SERVICE is just in N scale, ADOBE GAS Station just in Z available, is this right ?
The gas pumps seems to be the same.

    Gas Pumps!!

Way back in mid 2004, I scratch built my first ever Z scale structure. Just so happens their was a BP gas station down the road from my apartment. I took a few photos of the place and then using Evergreen Styrene and my new Z Scale Ruler, I crafted the following gas station!!!

It took about two weeks to finish the project. When it came to the gas pumps, those were the most time consuming. First I shaped the styrene into the pumps, attached them, then painted them. The last thing was putting hoses on them. I used very thin copper wire. I drilled 48 individual holes, 2 per hose. One to attach the hose to the pump and the other to the handle area. Instead of gluing each hose to the pump, I painted them black and inserted the hose into the holes while the paint was wet. The paint dried and secured the hoses in place. 48 holes, 24 hoses. Took quite some time to finish!!!

Here is a photo that shows the pumps a little closer.

Some lucky person bid and won it on ebay in late 2004. Should I have sold it??? No, but I did!!! Kicking myself for a long time!!!

    *******************************************

I have had one of Arrowheads convenience store kits for about two years. I have yet to put it together, but after studying the parts, it is a very well made kit. Unfortunately, it lacks a few items such as pumps and the few other oddities found at the pumps for a gas station/convenience store of this nature. Maybe soon I will find myself building it!

    Hi Tim,

Your selfmade pumps are crazy good looking ! And how much job on them.
I would be satisfied with a much simpler version, perhaps also older style.
You see, Ed from Märklins autorepair dont arrive anymore to make his month repairing dead pots,
so he wanted some gas pumps to adjust his income :money:

Randy brown used to sell his gas pumps seperately, maybe you could e-mail him and ask.
