    Alan,

    Here's the next project in the hopper so to speak here:

    What's the right length flat car for this? Is it an 89ft'r? Or would a modified version of your 68 ft military flat with a wood deck be right? I'd love to make a couple of this for the maint. crew....

    They look like the longer ones to me. One must remember that the MOW crews ended up with a lot of different equipment so either length would work.

    Hmmm, ok, would your 89 ft bulhead do, minus the bulkhead and other hardware, and with the deck left as a metal deck? Not wooden? I'm sure I could scratch/improvise all the other stuff/frame needed. Sounds like a project...

    Looks to me like Alan's channel side 89' car is what you need. The car shouldn't have a wooden deck.

    Hardest part is having to scratchbuild that #18 or so switch that is on it! = )
