Alan, Here's the next project in the hopper so to speak here: http://www.niagararails.com/cgi-bin/rosters1.cgi?/railcars/cn/054977cn.jpg What's the right length flat car for this? Is it an 89ft'r? Or would a modified version of your 68 ft military flat with a wood deck be right? I'd love to make a couple of this for the maint. crew.... [ 15. They look like the longer ones to me. One must remember that the MOW crews ended up with a lot of different equipment so either length would work.
Hmmm, ok, would your 89 ft bulhead do, minus the bulkhead and other hardware, and with the deck left as a metal deck? Not wooden? I'm sure I could scratch/improvise all the other stuff/frame needed. Sounds like a project...
Looks to me like Alan's channel side 89' car is what you need. The car shouldn't have a wooden deck. Hardest part is having to scratchbuild that #18 or so switch that is on it! = )
