That's one of them! Over the past couple of days I was thinking (with all the talk of cutting up F units...) of taking an E or F, or an SDP40F, partially cutting out the sides, installing walkways between the cab and rear, and putting a steam locomotive boiler inside, so the whole thing looks like one of those UP veranda turbines. Replace the radiator fans on top with domes, put a big stack on top... That's what happens when I start thinking...
I keep seeing the Coors commercial with the beer can engine ... I wonder if the cans could be managed into a boiler and etc. using a FEF chassis and running gear . kinda like a brass model with no instructions and no preformed parts.
Here's two ideas I had. NOTE: slanted nose on first loco and the two grills, section and fan placement on top of second loco.... Tom
How about an F7D? This is only fictional in North America, because Australia did have one class of double-ended E-units. I also did know someone who was fantasizing at one point about a double-ended DD40X, and I know Lionel produced a DD40X in Milwaukee Road colours, but it wasn`t in N Scale.
