Can someone help me out? I'd like to return a decoder to the factory settings. I understand that this is CV 8. I'm using a Digitrax Zephyr. According to the manual, the value to program is 008/x08. I haven't done a lot of programming much beyond the address, so 008/x08 is where I fall down. Should I be programming in a value of 64?
You should program CV 8 with a value of 8 and that will reset the decoder to factory defaults. Stay cool and run steam.....
What model decoder? Check the manual for the specific decoder to find what value to program for a reset. It varies by manufacturer.
Thanks, I will use 8 to do this. It is a lenz decoder. I don't know the specific model, but it is one of the ones that comes stock with an Atlas decoder equipped loco (in this case a GP38).
For Lenz decoders the factory reset value for CV 8 is 99. For Digitrax decoders the factory reset value for CV 8 is 08. Stay cool and run steam.....
