Sorry for keep posting about this locomotive, but I need to know, does anybody have a Idea on how I can keep the Gate to stay permanately on the back of my loco? For some reason it won't stay in place, when my loco stops immediately, my superliners hit the back on the Loco, causing the Gate to fall off, also the Vibration of the Loco causes it to fall off. Any information is greatly appreciated!

The one-piece handrail and stanchion assembly is designed to be a press-fit into the holes on the rear pilot and walkway deck. If it keeps falling off, try applying a tiny amount of CA or epoxy on its mounting pins to try to help hold it in place.

A common CA is zap, or zap a gap[/b]</font>

CA is the abbreviation for cyanoacrylate, an adhesive also known as Super Glue. The Zap and Zap-a-Gap that Stickymonk mentioned are a couple of brands of CA you can find in most hobby shops. I'd recommend these over plain Crazy Glue, since you can buy them in different viscosities and setting times to better suit different applications. However, plain crazy glue on the toothpick should work in the time being to help keep the handrails on.

Epoxy is, well, epoxy. :D It's a two part adhesive consisting of a resin and catalyst (hardener). The only disadvantage of it is that you must thoroughly mix equal amounts of the resin and hardener for it to "set", which can be messy (and smelly!). The upsides are that epoxy can be a VERY strong adhesive, and it can also be bought with different setting times (anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours) . Most hobby shops and hardware stores should carry epoxy.

For this application you probably want the thin CA glue as it will wick down into the holed and then set up instantly. Keep in mind though that if it gets on your fingers it will also set up instantly there too! A little known fact about CA adhesives is that they were originally designed by the army as an emergency field dressing to stick skin together. They do a really good job of it, so beware!
