514 is one of only two former N&W passenger GP9s still extant (the other, 521, is in the VMT), it's the only one running. The others were either scrapped or turned into TC10s... Great catch. Yes, 4607 is former EMD GP59 demo 9
Hey Robbman, What about (former N&W) # 620 that is at the NC Transportation Museum? Was that a freight only unit? Harold
Here's one of the other ex-demo units I caught a few months ago: I like the unique features, such as the rounded cab roof and nose, the built out headlight, new style numberboards, etc... Harold
Yes, 620 is a freight GP9. The true N&W passenger Geeps were fairly unique in detail (note the GP20-esque sill and fuel tank on the 514)
Here's another one of the ex-EMD demos: This unit was caught in a rain as the lead unit on a switching move. Harold
