Question: Is anyone familiar w/ getting the ESU Loksound Programmer software file for the FDTI Chipset to successfully download in Windows 10? I got the LokSoundV5 to successfully download, extract, and open. However, the FDTI Chipset will not. I went back and read the ESU website and it says that software is good through Windows 8. They have to have something for Windows 10. I am running on a Dell Laptop with Windows 10. The FDTI should open and then sync w/ the USB comm port. When I got to TOOLS and check for the comm connection, it not showing anything. This should be connecting with a USB driver that I have and is successfully providing output to other devices. I have unplugged all other devices (except for the Logitech Mouse/Key receiver) and still nothing.

Also, I have researched and the only issue I can find is folks having trouble with supplied USB cable from ESU. However, that is not the issue because I FIRST have to get the programmer to recognize the USB port. Not happy here, I had diddled and putzed around with this wasting several hours this morning. I've reached out to ESU but would like to get this running this weekend. They say they'll get back to me within 2 weeks.

    Thoughts?

You'll probably get better response requesting info or searching the web for "FTDI". They are common USB-IO (typically serial bus) adapter ICs used in lots of USB peripherals and serial bus (e,g. RS-232, etc.) adapters.

I had the same problem- cannot find the USB port. I gave up and put efforts into new sound decoders and 3D printing...

I finLy went to site that had the chipset download. Reset the programmer by unplugging, got the files set up and accepted by the laptop. Rebooted the laptop, plugged the ESU, connected it into the PC and voila. Worked like a champ.
