I have been in model railroading for about 14 yrs, but just the modeling part no layout. i leave that to the scenery junkies at my club. Now to the question, what does code 83,100 or any others like that, and what does turnout #5 mean. How do they measure these kinds of things

    Thanks alot guys and gals

Turnout number refers to the frog angle. The best way to understand it is draw some triangles. One side 6", one side 1" at a 90ยบ angle. Now connect the two lines. The resulting angle is the same angle as a #6 frog or turnout. For a #4 just make the long line 4" long. It is just a reference number.

For rail code, here is the best place I know of.
