Couple of years ago my wife bought me a Bachman Spectrum 2-8-0 in Southern green and gold, Id like to add DCC and sound to it without breaking the bank, any ideas? Tom
Digitrax and Soundtraxx both have "generic" sound decoders for steam. I have read something recently about Soundtraxx having to change/discontinue one of their 2-8-0 decoders, but I am not sure why. I have a Soundtrxx decoder in my P2K 0-6-0; it was easy to install, and works well. Decoders are getting cheaper all the time, so look around for the best price - and if you aren't going to install it for a couple of months, delay the purchase until you are ready...! Andrew
