Hi all Does anyone have the December issue of RMC? We don't get it down here in the shops until January and I was wondering if someone has read the article "The simplest Christmas layout by Robert Turner". This is exactly what we are planning to do for our boy (3 1/2) for his Christmas present (HO on a door) and I was wondering if there is anything useful in the article.... Cheers Bruce
racedirector, I found the article more entertaining than useful. But then I have no children to do such things for. He does give a full list of the materials used and opinions of what make a succesful layout. The whole article is 1 1/3 pages with a nice picture of the kids looking at the lay out witch fits on a card table. Hope this helps. If I had the finances I think I'd build something like it just for myself. Richard P.S. Happy Holidays to all
Can you scan that and email it to me? My wife wants a xmas layout and we've already got most of the stuff to do it....except time! (so her accountant brain isnt going ballistic on loco costs!) disisme@disisus.com
Thanks Short Round We bought a whole bunch of second hand Peco settrack and various bits of HO rolling stock - 4 loco's and 14 cars (in good nick I might add). I am buying a small power pack tomorrow. Ours is going on a door. I was just wondering how the "pro's" recommend doing a small Xmas layout. Like disisme, would anyone be prepared to scan and email the article? I will be buying the mag in Jan but that is a bit late for the 25th Cheers Bruce
Usually I get my issue 2 weeks ahead of time but it has'nt shown up yet. I thought maybe it was late because of the holidays but if you guy's got yours I'm going to have to e-mail somebody about my copy!!!!
