Hi all. Have had standard O scale for years. New to N scale and DCC engines/ Locos. I have a Kato FEF-3 Locomotive and would like to install sound. I am having a hard time finding info one which ones are better. I am really happy with this model, it is the Greyhound #8444, its a sharp looking Loco.

I found a couple videos of the digitrax install, didn't look to bad to do. But I couldn't tell how good the sound is and have no idea of its features. I read the Sound traxx Tsunami is a good one. And I know there are more out there.

Advise/ thoughts on which one I should go with would be appreciated. I will be using the NCE Power Cab for my layout.

The easiest conversion for sound for the Kato FEF-3 would be the ESU LokSound V5 58741 board in the boiler of the loco with wires run back to the tender for a speaker setup (I generally do a dual sugar cube setup along with rear tender light on the FEF3's).

Certainly there are multiple ways to install sound in these units so I think it just comes down to personal preference on decoder type.

    Hope this helps!
