Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any links to a "DCC Primer" or something where I can spend a little time getting up to speed on what's out there; how it works; some of the lingo. You know the basics. I've been an armchair for too long and I want to get going on a new layout soon. I don't know if DCC is for me but I'm leaning that way. Which probably means coverting all my old equipment. If that's even possible. Thanks in advance.
Just In Case - Welcome to TrainBoard Try this site it helped me out a lot when I started last year. http://www.wiringfordcc.com/wirefordcc_toc.htm
Hi Mark, Welcome! Okane and Jeff gave some really good sites and here are more: http://www.litchfieldstation.com/lobby/u_university.htm http://www.loystoys.com/MiscHTML/dcc-topics.html Good Luck and enjoy,
Mark: Welcome to Trainboard. Tony's Trains DCC Primer is easy to read and understand. It's very informative. Stay cool and run steam....
Tony's primer was very helpful to me when I looked to convert. And if you still have more questions after reading it, call him! He guided me through the whole process. I'm sure there are other good sources out there, and not trying to knock them, I just know that Tony's was very helpful to me personally.
Read through the DCC for Beginners from Tony's Tips. Great stuff. Now at least I can read some of the other DCC posts and know what the heck their talking about. Thanks, I'll be looking over the other links this weekend.
