Working on a custom MOW train for track cleaning on my N scale layout. Up front is my biggest loco an sd90 mac pulling the CMX track cleaning car. For the majority of the layout it can pull the car itself but there is this one spot it stalls. Sooooooo I decided to use another loco and disguise it as part of the cleaning units. Behold my RGU (Rail Grinding Unit) custom fitted onto a gp7 loco base. It's not perfect as you can probly tell, I didn't go ham on making every line and curve razor clean. But not bad for a filament printed work.

I dropped a piece of plastic fiber optic wire down on top the decoder so it has a flashing beacon when in operation. Then I downloaded an SBB pocket loco sound file from ESU cause it just sounds like it's grinding away at something. It would have been cool to put led's under it to make it look like action is happening but I wasn't looking to go that far..................................... for now

Now I just have to figure what I want to do for the last car behind the RGU. I'll need something with a cab for when the train is running in reverse. I think I have an Idea, no rush though.

A 'Cabbage'? Possibly cut down to just the 'Cab'?

Something like that yea. It will definitely be a mash up of some kind. Maybe even a 20 ft container on it. Thinking something a little workshop/toolshed looking also.

That's pretty cool and well executed FDM - I like the paint and logo, too!

Very cool Idea (y) . I have a U50 loco that I pulled two sets of trucks off of and replaced them with cleaning pads to use as a track cleaner but haven't come up with anything so cleaver....just looks like a U50 minus the inner trucks :(.
