    Curve Question

I'm trying to layout my large curve.

    It is 16.25,15,15,15,2,15,15,15,16.25.
Is the 2" straight a big no no for operation
    or appearance.

    I think 16.25,16.25,16.25,15,15,16.25,16.25,16.25
would also work in the space I have for the curve.
This will require a trip to the LHS.

    Thanks,

operationally you will probably be fine, however, have a 2" interruption in your curve would be distracting in my opinion. If you can maintain a smooth curve throughout without a straight section, you will have a much better appearance while moving your trains through the curve.

    I agree,

What's the best way to draw a curve
with easements to lay your flex track?

    Thanks,

To put in easements, an easy way is to make the last car-length or 1 1/2 car lengths of track double the curve radius of the main part of the curve. 16" curves would have a 32" radius easement. I know it's not the textbook method of easements, but it's probably close enough for modeling.

    Thanks,

    I think I'm going with..

    30,16,16,16,15,16,16,16,30

It's the only way to fit good.
