X-acto knife. I believe nail polish remover (acetone) will take it off, but it'll probably ruin the plastic.
lanolin. How big a patch of skin is stuck? Usually, with acetone, you can peel it back a bit at a time. Lanolin takes longer, but it will seek underneath and you'll be able to release the part.
A big circle, a little smaller than a dime to the roof of the car. After 20 minutes of rocking it back and forth soaking nail polish remover. Thanks to the wife for going to walgreens and getting a big bottle. I tried the 1-3 second ca. Had used the 5-15 before. the 1-3 is to watery, the 5-15 is much easier. Thanks, Loco1999
I'll take the slower setting time vs. no control of watery fast dry. It's so much easier when the glue stays where you put it.
Make sure the nail polish remover you are using contains acetone. Some do not. On an area that large you have, probably will have to work patiently from the outside in. Cut as much of the plastic away as you safely can. Pry CAREFULLY at the edges as you go. I'd suggest applying it with a Q-tip around the edges rather than soaking your hand, as acetone is a hazardous material. Frank
Most hobby shops will carry a super glue (AC) remover. In the shop I work in it's a generic glue that has the stores label on it, most stores have a variant of this glue. The AC remover has a green cap on it but otherwise looks just like the rest of the superglue bottles. Real technical, I know. But I thought it might help. Big Daddy
Yes, like Big Daddy says, the debonder is quick and effective. But, it will debond everything it touches, even the good parts.
It's a good idea to have the debonder or nail polish remover really close at hand, in case you glue yourself to the furniture. You have to be patient, as you've found, with both fixes since CA will soak into your skin. You can use throwaway latex rubber gloves (unless you're allergic) but any CA excess might sit on the glove and transfer to something else. So, Loco1999, were you thinking black thoughts about Canada after the first reply came through? "I'll use Trainboard, they'll know what to do and answer real fast and WHAAAA???!!!"
Good one, steamghost!! I liked it! I am just glad that loco1999 didn't glue a hammer to his forehead or something like that!
It's pretty funny now. It was stuck to my index finger for about an hour. The car is pretty damaged, some paint came off. Fingerprint on the roof, I'll be weathering it. Loco1999
But how did he type with the car stuck to his finger? Also, he panicked and posted it in a few places.
