Wondering if anyone out there could tell me what would be involved in converting a Atlas C630 into a BN C636. many thanks, Mike
There was an article in an old issue of the SP&S historical society mag showing how a tyco C630 was converted in HO. I would recommend contacting them and getting the magazine. I had it but it got destroyed when my basement flooded last week.
Bleedin' good question, Mike, I'd like to know myself. Maybe there's a use for those old Con-Cor bodies, yet! BTW, welcome aboard. Pity about the basement flooding, John. Much damage?
First step is to place your C630 back in its box, and then wait until Atlas announces the C636 next month at the Chantilly N Scale show.
An Atlas C636 seems unlikely (like a Shay!). There were only 36 or so built, and in North America only IC, SP&S and PC had any (I believe). The BN and CR versions might be marketable, but then you have those hi-ad trucks to contend with. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, however.
