Hi to all Sorry, I sent some additional pictures through Cox internet... well, it took 21 hours to get through the network... and they were only 600 or 700kB. Modern tech is wonderful. Anyway- here is another picture of the containers. They have a little weathering- I am trying different ways to roughen them up without really wrecking things...
You know, I never actually took pictures of my completed containers! Well, since I'm trying to figure out the parkinglots and what not in my yard, I took them all out and set them out, and took the time to take some quick pictures, enjoy! The little laser cut building is a temporary structure. I've been making these temp structures so that I can progress through my scenary planning, especially in regards to placing roads and parkinglots. Since it takes me months to finish a single building, well, it helps me get there quicker! Gonna be a real busy yard, what with the little container yard sharing the space. I'm not even sure there's enough space to be realistic, but I'm not doing this to be realistic, I'm doing this to have fun
Realistic is over rated, FUN is not And I don't have the talent to do realistic Alright the containers look real, I take it back
In2tech, this layout is really just a big trainset, I decided long ago that it didn't need to be realistic, prototypical, or whatever. But I do want to make another layout that will be an attempt at modeling a real place. That will be much more difficult, but still fun in a different way. That layout will be a logging layout based on a historical book I bought last year. Just this week I snagged my second Atlas Shay locomotive at a silly low price, so I'm closer to getting there! DeaconKC - all the containers you see here are 3d prints of my own design
I got them all from the UK. Technically they're all 1:150 scale but I didn't care, and it's not really visible that it's not 1/160. I couldn't find many of the container decals we routinely see in Canada using microscale. I can't currently find the name of the company in my bookmarks or emails, maybe I mentioned it earlier in the thread?
Looked in my decals box, the decal maker is =C= Rail intermodal, but can't remember which hobby shop I ordered from in the UK
