Hello! I have a question about some Conrail 50' boxcars. They are painted in the standard boxcar red but have yellow sliding doors. I've even seen some with white painted doors. Any significance to the yellow or white doors? Do these colors relate to what lading these cars carry? Thanks!
Hi Frank, yellow or green doors mark a car for clean service usually paper and print related. White would be for clean service as well but food related.
Thanks for the info, and welcome aboard! I could not remember why they were that way, but knew there was a reason!
Great!...Thanks, noblerot for your response! That has cleared up a question I had for quite some time! Frank
