This Omaha Tie Yard truck was spotted parked next to the Cameo Power Plant where the second track was recently pulled up. Un-pathed SP 343 paid a visit to Grand Junction. Her she is getting ready to be put on the front of an east bound coal train. Ben
A few shots of the Parachute Local passing through DeBeque Canyon near the high flowing Colorado River. Ben
Front Range action while waiting for 844 I headed east today to catch 844 running to Denver. While waiting I caught some diesel action, so I thought I would share some photos. These were taken north of Nunn, CO.
A few more diesels and a wayward caboose I stopped in Ault, CO to get a few photos of their bay window caboose in the park next to the tracks. It could use a little restoration. I also caught a few more diesels on the siding south of LaSalle, CO.
Worth waiting for, UP 844! OK, here are the photos of 844 and the excursion train headed to Denver. These were taken north of Nunn, CO
UP 844 headed south out of LaSalle, CO I stopped here to get some photos of the diesels on the siding, Once 844 came along, I realized there were too many poles in the shot, but I didn't have time to move south.
Thanks Fitz! It was funny, I shot the photos at Nunn, and as I watched 844 and 6936 go under the bridge, it dawned on me "That was the DD-40-X behind 844!"
Hey all, was on vacation again this year along the Moffat route, and got quite a few photos to share. Still need to go through them and pick out the good ones to post up on this thread, but here's a few to get started with View out the window of the RV at Radium. Got an empty sitting in the siding waiting on a loaded coming up the hill. Across the tracks, waiting for something to roll by Loads That's all I got right now, need to finish some editing and I'll get more up. =) Mike
Ya know Hemi, every time I was down there, I had no action at all, no matter how long I waited around. :/
Was at Glenwood Springs one evening and after catching the super late California Zephyr, got a few pics of this loaded eastbound. Only had my cell phone camera, so the pics didn't turn out so well :/ Since when did they start putting "siding" and "main" on the rail sides? Mike
Caught part of the Hotel between the cars I find it odd that this loco has the UP shield on the rear but no "UNION PACIFIC" down the side. Afterwards, I drove past the yard, and grabbed some shots of the power sitting there. Mike
A few shots that I took when I met up with Mike after work. The majority of my recent photos were taken at Rail Fest in North Platte, NE. I will be posting them here soon. Ben
