I have used the Sepia tool in my picture processor and I also like it better than plain black and white.

Something like this (I just processed it on my iPad, using “vivid warm” setting). The slight yellowing gives it an older look, and the white balance is reminiscent of the old Kodachrome snap shot films
For me, I like both here. Color tends to bring a pic to life and give you a feeling of being there. Then, there is the B&W that gives you that sense of nostalgia and looking into the past. The main thing is it's the great modeling that makes these pics look so good regardless of color or not.
As a retired professional photographer, I need to say two things: 1.I don't really care for B&W 2.What people call the Kodachrome Look is something different than Kodachrome.
I do appreciate and am glad black & white photography existed. However, I am blessed with vision in color and that is my preference.
