Now the raw Umber Wash. This time I diluted the wash more than the normal 5 to 1 I use. I poured the 5 to 1 wash into a cup and added a ½ part more bwwf. In the photos in may appear dark but in person it was much lighter. It also now more closely matched the rocks on the Water Tower Diorama and the Cement Distributor. Next I sealed the rocks with Plaid Matte Sealer. This sealer does leave the rocks a little slick but that was what I was looking for as a prep for the next step. Here are the rocks after the sealer.
Now I apply a Licorice Wash. Again I diluted the usual 5 to 1 mix. This time it was closer to an 8 or 9 to 1 mix. Lastly I seal the rocks with Dullcoat.
Here is the Hillside with green added. I used Woodland Scenics Blended Green Turf. I ran out toward the end and had to finish with Medium Green Fine Turf.
Wow! That is looking sweeeeet! You should take a look at the original photos and see how much progress you've made. Good job!
Proof that even without a master plan you can have a layout if you just keep plugging along at it. The steady progress reminds me to set some goals for my layout.:shade:
I now placed the Hunting Cabin on the layout. The Cabin is a Model Power Built-up that I did some weathering on.
