I am looking for suggestions for lighting my buildings. My plans are to light each room of each building. I am wondering what lights (voltage, type, size, etc) people suggest. Also, I would like to have the lights on some type of timer, one that would cycle randomly to simulate some realism as well as being integrated with a photo cell to turn on when the room lights are dimmed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would like to start installing my lighting as I construct the buildings. Thanks
I just built a couple of them using a microchip for some of the Miller engineering buildings that I am buying. I used a CDS (like a photo cell) to check the ambient light and have ~20 outputs that turn ON LED's some of the outputs are white LED's so they flicker when they turn ON to simulate Tube light. The microchip can directly drive LED's, that is why I prefer LED's, else normally I like the effect of incandacent bulbs. I could give you a programmed microchip if you are willing to bread board it yourself. There is a lot of wiring because if you have a hotel with 20 rooms that is 40 wires there just for the LED's. If you are not comfortable doing that you can check http://www.bakatronics.com/shop/ he carries some lighting circuits at a reasonable cost. Kim
Tim, I am using the 16F series chip so there is a wide range of I/O's from 6 to 53. http://www.microchip.com Kim
Kim So does this circuit turn on all of the lights at the same time or will it turn some on and not others. In my opinion, all of the lights on in one building is just not realistic. Thanks
