Looks like a hell of a mess. I was just involved in an aircraft crash drill less than a month ago and I can tell you that responding to these sorts of incidents is not plesent, even in simulation. Be interesting to see how it shakes out. Thanks for the info, Barb.
Terrorible news, I am just wondering what caused that crash.......that run has never been subject to derailments before, this is the first time I heard about anything happening there. I pray for the familes of the passengers and crew.
Fox News just reported that the engine crew may have seen something on the tracks and put the train into emergency. The crew is still talking to investigators. Dwight
I heard about that too.... it seems like there have been ALOT of train wrecks lately, particularly Amtrack. That really sucks. I take an Amtrack to another state every summer, and it's really fun. It would suck if it crashed.
I dont think that statement is truly valid. The only other serious accident was on the Metrolink train in California, but yes, any accident is unfortuate. A single accident is one too many, and a single injury or fatality is one too many. Accidents cant be avoided, like in North Carolina, but errors were committed in California, so thats better off being called a collision. Dont know if that makes any sense, but its my opinion. Dave
