Acording to Bachmann the 4-6-0 is on hold because they don't have a small enough moter to fit in the cab. Thus nothing can be done till they acomplish this. So anyone know of a low cost suplier for small 5 pole moters? I was thinking they could modify the 0-4-0 moter with a 5 pole armature. That should be small enough. What do you think?
Your spellchecker isn't working very well, Phill, it missed "According", "accomplish", and "supplier"!!
Sounds like a very strange thing to do, announce a product you can't build? What's in the Atlas (Micro Ace) Mogul? That thing's really small. Why a low cost supplier for motors? Bachmann hopefully is not going to throw some cheap motor into an engine that's going to retail for over $170. Adding a 5-pole armature to an old motor is not going to do the trick, unfortunately.
To keep on topic, I would like to have this locomotive, and would be willing to pay more for a motor that costs a little more. So here is an idea from the Atlas mogul: Here is another from a Kato br86 Thanks/sorry Chris for using your mogul image. Anyone else have some ideas?

I've seen some pretty small motors come from these guys.
