Well, I ordered the decals for my B&M GP40 and will soon begin the process of painting it. I've been looking around for B&M blue paint and just don't know which to use. I'll be painting with an airbrush (which I've never done before...) and I want the color to be as realistic as possible. Any suggestions as to what brand and where to order paint from would be very helpful. Here is the loco I'm going to model. I'm also going to need to source some new handrailings as mine were broken during shipment. It is an atlas locomotive if anyone can help. Thanks in advance.
My preference would be Scalecoat II B&M Blue if the model is plastic or Scalecoat B&M Blue for brass or metal. Primer is not needed and it dries to a gloss finish ready for decals. Rick Jesionowski
Shoot, I already ordered Tru Color from Walthers, I'll try the Scalecoat II next, thanks for the recommendation.
Tru-color is good paint, but it is enamel, which I don’t use. Some of the guys I know use it and it looks good, so as long as you have an accurate color, either of those brands would be fine.
