Just to clarrify this, SP was hurting, so they hired a few execs from UP. These execs then decided to buy (yes Buy) UP, but since they were UP execs, they kept the UP name for several reasons, one being name reputation in the northern areas. In all realities, the UP of today is techincally the SP, but with UP management. </font>[/QUOTE]Actually, Rio Grande bought SP but kept the SP name because of its recognition. Those b@$t@rds at UP have been trying to get SP since the early days! Creeps! Thugs! Punks! UP locos are the only ones that look good covered in graffiti!!!

Wow, such a mature bunch we have here... There is so much wrong with the "history" presented here I hope nobody is actually taking it seriously.
Yup, common horse sense would indicate that as a logical solution. On the other hand, common sense may not apply here since litigation is involved. Might also use something like "This calender is not a product of or affiliated with the Borg. Its use is intended for the entertainment of the purveyor and is not intended to promote UPRR. Go SP!".
I like the idea for UP to buy them all and sell them as a UP product. Always best to make a profit, somehow. Seems easier than litigation.
I received the UP calendar from Steamscenes yesterday and it is GREAT. UP is missing the boat by not buying Nils' entire stock and marketing it as their own. The cover (and June) have a great shot of 3985. I don't think the "official" UP calendar has one of 3985. All of the images of high quality.
