Like to replace the temporary CNJ station sign with a bidirectional lit version. Figure on using Evergreen .125 * .25 rectangular hallow tube styrene for the frame and single post and .125 Rt angle styrene to trim around the frame and cover the edges of the rough-in transparent label or “decal” lens. Possibly print on light paper stock for diffusing light.

There would be 2-4 SMD 0402 LEDs centered on the inside on each of the 4 frame sides with wires passing in the channel feeding down thru the post.

Found some clear Avery laser labels. Then printed a test black sign and thought looked pretty good. Since only have mono laser, went to UPS yesterday and had a colored set made. Possibly the same approach can be used for lit signage? Or maybe print on opaque stock for better diffusion of light and minimize number of LEDs and wiring. The output is not as crisp and dark as the Blk. Unsure if due to the colors or the fact that the printer jammed on the first sheet with a hot diffuser error message and I missed seeing the rep put the 2nd sheet upside down causing some loose toner. This is the 3rd sheet output. Thinking going to a different UPS today or tomorrow to redo and see if any better.

Would prefer using the CNJ green and Dulux. Blk and color of samples of non-lit test this morning.

Thought about picking up some transparency stock, like the type used for the overhead projector, as better option. Kinda looking for alternate approach or ideas to consider or have overlooked something?
