Finished this structure last week. Except for some chimnies which are on route, it is ready to be put to use. Paul
I think you missed your calling. If you made that structure commercially available, I know you will get swamped with requests. Excellent job.
Great Scratch-Bash Shamus.... Do you draw out plans first...what is your inspiration...photos...books, local???? Great work...inspirational for all of us...winter coming on here in the Northwest...time to hunker down at the bench and do some 'bashing'...
Paul, Once again you AMAZE ME! Wonderfull work! Thats some scatchbuilt building you got their. Now, if I only could get my engine house and loco facilities done. I'd be making some real progress, but the building loco's and cars and custom painting has me all tied down to it for now... Plus the shop hours.... I'ma busy man! But lovin' every second of it! Again..... NICE WORK!
Thanks for the kind remarks to all, Satokuma I get all my inspiration from photographs, if I like a subject, I'll build it. John You mentioned your engine house and loco facilities, I have just finished scratchbuilding a two stall engine house, based on the John Allen one. Paul
Paul, I'm sure happy you are a Trainboard member, Your posts are like getting a new train magazine several times a month... Always a new model to see! Keep up the great work!
I think that when the "Itch" hits Paul, he goes into over-drive and doesn't eat or sleep until the "itching idea" is done! And as we see, ALWAYS to perfection!
Not far from the truth Watash, once I do arrive at the start of a new project, I tend to stay at it until it is finished. That structure above took me just about 12 days at around 4 hours per day. Paul
Paul, that is Beautiful! Are the walls and platforms individual boards? If not, you did a great job of staining them to look that way!!!!
Hi Hank, Yes, all boards are placed one at a time, abit on the slow side doing it but worth the effort. Thanks. Paul
Paul, your work is always fantastic and an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for sharing your talent and answering our MANY questions. Jim
Paul, You do know there is no H before the O in O scale right? A model with that much detail just can't be 1:87 12 days is pretty good! It would take me that long just to think about maybe even considering to plan to attempt to do something like that someday. [ 08. November 2002, 16:53: Message edited by: Paul Davis ]
