Absolutely more to come! When I can . . .
great to see the pics, I'm hoping for some more MRL in that era!
Love those images of the BN and MRL equipment!
Quite a spectacular collection!
We will start with a sad pic. It's a GP38 that had a very bad day. If I remember right, this was not a lead unit and no one got hurt in this cab.
A pair of good ole GE's,
Some ubiquitous, at the time, SD40-2's, at the east end of the Livingston, MT yard, eastbound,
These are also from Livingston, MT in Nov 94. This GP30 came to LRC for some minor work and I think a repaint from the Eastern Idaho,
Inside the LRC shops, from the mezanine looking down at a couple,
This one is on the drop pit, used to be used to drop wheels out of steam engines for retiring, now for diseasils, re-wheeling or an entire truck,
A pair of eastbound GP's from the cab of a unit I was riding in to test it. We did this continually with re-generatored, re-engined or rewired units to test everything. Going up and over Bozeman pass was a rush!
And also, Cheyennes 4004 in Nov 94.
What's the story on that burned BN unit? Hit a fuel truck at a grade crossing?
I have been trying to remember what I heard then, but am drawing a blank.
Great stuff!! MRL really had an interesting fleet at that time.
It was great fun when I got to play with every kind of diseasel there, from U-boats to 70MAC's and -9's. MRL had so much variety of heritage for their units. They had that NP heritage SW and lots of different GP's, and SD's. And we, LRC, kept a large stock of parts units to help keep things running. Funnest job I ever had!
Nov 94 and the 104 has a new paint job and a short nose,
And a few U-boats brought up to be upgraded with more radiator, rebuilding engines and recabling, re-piping and making them serviceable again.
A Thanksgiving trip to Colorado Springs to visit family and caught this train,
And my favorite part of that visit, this old beauty!!
WOW thats great, i'm building a 104 in that era, don't suppose you have anymore of her?
Great stuff. Keep it up!
fordy - I may have some more, will look around!
Boy.... I knew you were a train geek. But wow! Awesome collection of photos.

Thank you, thank you!!
