Hi All, Thought I would post a couple of pics showing some scenery which was completed today on the new Badger Creek. Lots of details still to add to it, but it's a start. [ 15 February 2002, 18:56: Message edited by: Paul Templar ]
Paul...are you using some form of forced labor here? Oompa Loompas? Because this is absolutely amazing...I would say you have only seven weeks into this layout (plus the time it took to build all the structures long ago) Time, space, and the determination to do something accomplisheds amazing stuff. This is no Exception. I can see some nice photographs emerging. Keep it up, and Hope I am there some day!
Paul, you never cease to amaze me That may be "a start" to you, but to me it is stunning! I am REALLY looking forward to coming over to have a look for myself in the summer
Russ, you stole my thunder, I was about to say..."on the seventh day, Paul created...." Great scenery, as always...thanks for sharing. Mike
Paul..Are those all new trees or from the old layout? Either way they look great. In the first photo, the trestle the engine is sitting on looks slightly saggy or is that just the angle it is shot from?
Paul, Your efforts are absolutely amazing I can't believe the progress you have made since Christmas. Can you post another overall shot of the layout
Paul, A truly amazing result, especially in such a short period of time. Nothing short of awesome! Harold
Sorry Mike but that is not your thunder, it is HIS (Paul's) thunder. If HE can create scenery like that then I am sure HE shall also have some thunder on his layout soon (I think that thunder is on the third day -LOL) (Sorry if I offended anyone with the biblical puns but Paul certainly is a Creator!) Russ
Those pics are absolutely stunning. A benchmark, if you would. Paul, if you have an extra hour or two, could you build my layout too?
Paul, that is outstanding! There are those of us who attempt(!) to make scenery with three (or more) reference books open on the table, plaster up to our elbows, paint in our eyes, and cursing mightily .... and then there is Paul! (wish there was a Graemlin showing a figure bowing. )
As always, Paul, you are a MASTER BUILDER. I know building scenery is one of your greatest joys and it certainly shows. The new sawmill fits in perfectly. Thanks for sharing with us.
Paul, I think all above has said it all. I can only add that I´m very impressed - as always. I would also like if you can show us an overall photo of your layout. --------- Helge SR&WF NARA member #5
As requested photo's of full view. Not quite a panorama view, as the layout now raps around me with a walk in, but here are some views of the scenic area and surrounding woodlands.
Latest photo shows the lift off section now has scenery and is in place behind the water towers. At the rear of the layout are profile boards ready to be filled in with rolled up newspaper then undercoat plaster will be added. These boards also lift off to allow me to reach over if needed.
Paul, Excellant job. It is nice to see that you were able to pull trees and structures from your old layout and incorporate them into your new one so seemlessly. It looks great, especially the water and the new sawmill. Another interesting feature is the Trestle Wye...reminds me of the popular one in California (Keddy?) to a smaller scale.
Paul, Nice work as always! And fast work as well.... The new Badger Creek is really comming along! Can't wait to see the trains in revenue!
